When people consider awesome tee shots in golf you normally talk about the usual type of things; fantastic looking bunkers protecting the green, a water feature, elevated tees and tricky greens. Well here in Queenstown we could have possibly the most “over the top'' craziest tee you have ever seen.
The guys at Over The Top have created what might be the most amazing golf experience. Located just on the other side of Lake Wakatipu on Cecil peak 1500m up the mountain there are 4 seperate tee boxes, with the back tees a whopping 285m to the green while the closet tee box is only 150m. This gives you a good chance to hit a whole range of clubs.
After you have had your fun seeing the ball drop 100+ meters to hit the green, you take a short walk down to the green to inspect who got the closest to the pin. You have 30 minutes to putt and chip, meaning you can take your time and soak in the once-in-a-lifetime surroundings. After all, it’s not everyday you have your own private tee and green, never mind in that setting.
